Netflix India rolled out the second season of the most anticipated web series in the country Sacred Games 2. Having pushed the release time 12 hour earlier, the season was launched at midnight today. And Netflix made sure that the second installment is worth binge watching for the night owls.

The Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer series take off where it was left. Gaitonde is found sailing in the waters after being saved from dying in jail. He then meets Yadav Madam (Amruta Subhash) and the story starts to take a turn here. We will not be revealing the storyline bit by bit here. That is your job to do….

Speaking about the general storyline, the 8-episode Sacred Games 2 is basically divided into two timelines, as done in season 1, but in a more elaborate manner. The series narrates the past (Gaitonde’s timeline) and the present (Sartaj’s timeline) in a systematic way. This time, the director made sure all the questions left unanswered in the first seasons are answered. We would like to highlight the race against time to reveal the forthcoming danger that might wipe the name of Mumbai from the face of the world.

Sacred Games 2 has a newbie in the form of director Neeraj Ghaywan, who has restored Vikramaditya Motwane, although Motwane carries on acting as the executive producer. Varun Grover (initially the writer) has also stepped in the team of executive producer for this installment of the web series. New cast members such as Ranvir Shorey, Amruta Subhash, Pankaj Tripathi, and Kalki Koechlin make this web series a piece of cake for the people who love to binge watch.

Netflix Sacred Games 2 Review

The web sears is an ugly warning and a mirror of the dark tempestuous times that our country and the world is facing presently. The danger is actually upon us, and if we do not get our together, well, we may not have a Sikh cop to save us. The eight episodes are layered, intense, and keep you on wanting to see the next every time you end one. Season one was the slow start of the chaos. By season two, it has developed into an almost perfection. On the other hand, there are times of obviousness—the utter number of dead bodies falling into the grave, the absurd violence, and the moment where an honest “Muslim” policeman has to prove his loyalty over and over again.

By the time season 2 ends, you feel that you are the part of this entire show, which is a play of absurdity, and all your hope is on the verge to die. But it is the essential poison that we all require to consume if we want for our kids to even see the slightest part of a bright future. And to add more to the twist, not all hope is lost. The seeds for the third season of Sacred Games have been sown.
