After the popularity of season 3, Variety reports that Prime Video and Excel Media and Entertainment are creating a fourth season.
With season 3, Mirzapur became the most watched program in India during its debut weekend in July. Since then, the Hindi language criminal thriller has been in the top 10 in 85 countries, including the UK, US, and Australia.
The thrilling 10 episode third season packed plenty of action, but the end shows Guddu Pandit is only getting started.
Season 3 co-director Anand Iyer of Mirzapur praised the female characters of the show, calling them strong, and said that the ladies in his life served as inspiration for the show casting. He discussed the season in an exclusive interview with India Today, focusing on the reaction from viewers who missed the beloved character Munna Bhaiya.
Season 4 is coming sooner than anticipated, according to the co-director, who says Mirzapur is not focusing on one character anywhere. While he was silent on specifics for the next season, he said that viewers should expect a greater emphasis on the power dynamics and interpersonal dynamics of the show.
