In a bid to produce more of original content for the viewers, Netflix has shaken hands with Ajay Devgn Films, the production company of Ajay Devgn, to create Tribhanga. This project is being produced in partnership with Alchemy Films of Siddharth P Malhotra and Bannijay Asia. The directorial task is being done by Renuka Shahane.

Originally, Tribhanga was meant to be a short Marathi film but plans were changed as it was turned into a Hindi Netflix original getting Siddharth P Malhotra and Kajol on board. The drama will mark the foremost digital venture to be Kajol as an actor. And taking into consideration the past record of Kajol, it’s quite obvious that the actress does selected films only, thus Tribhanga has become a special film itself.

Tribhanga has obtained its title from an Odissi dance pose that is unbalanced and disjointed, yet aesthetic and mesmerizing, so much similar to the lives of the 3 female protagonists of the film – Masha, Anu, and Nayan, portrayed by Tanvi Azmi, Mithila Palkar, and Kajol. The film revolves around a twisty tale that moves to and fro through three generations of one family, from the late 1980s to the present day. The heart-warming plot delves into the significance of family in day-to-day lives.
In a statement, Ajay said, “We are thrilled to tie up with Netflix for a tale of three incredible women, Tribhanga. The film depicts the digital debut for Ajay Devgn Films and I am looking forward to seeing how the audience reacts to this story.”
Netflix Tribhanga Release Date
The principal photography of the film began in October 2019 and concluded in December 2019. Originally Tribhanga was intended to be streamed by the end of 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the production was ceased.
